For fans of southern rock and blues, collections represent the absolute pinnacle of American jam-band history. Throughout their decades-long career, the band revolutionized music with their signature dual-lead guitar harmonies, driving percussion, and soulful vocals.

Despite their critical and commercial triumph, tragedy was a constant companion. Duane Allman was killed in a motorcycle accident in 1971 at just 24 years old, and Berry Oakley died in a similar crash the following year. But the band soldiered on. They recruited Chuck Leavell on keyboards and Lamar Williams on bass, and released their most commercially successful album, Brothers and Sisters , in 1973, featuring the iconic hits "Ramblin’ Man" and "Jessica".
