Multisim is traditionally Windows software (and had a legacy Mac version years ago). Chrome OS runs on a Linux kernel, but it relies heavily on web-based Android apps. Because Multisim is such a heavy, processor-intensive application relying on Windows-specific drivers and libraries, porting it to Chrome OS has never been a priority for NI.

If you just need SPICE simulation on a Chromebook and don't care about the brand name "Multisim," the browser is now your best friend. You have two options: local VM (if you

Test and analyze circuits using live components, voltage probes, and virtual instruments like oscilloscopes.

Multisim for Chromebook Modern engineering and electronics education have shifted toward cloud-based environments, making the power of circuit simulation more accessible than ever. For users operating on ChromeOS, the traditional desktop installation of NI Multisim is not natively supported. However, National Instruments (NI) has addressed this by providing Multisim Live, a powerful web-based version that brings professional-grade circuit design and simulation directly to your Chromebook.
