Because you are working with odd angles, don't try to cut complex compound mortises by hand. Use a Domino joiner or a doweling jig. For a truly funky look, use contrasting dowels (brass or ebony) that show on the outside of the joint.
Because your rockers are not standard curves, you must build a "tripod jig" first. You clamp the rockers to this jig to ensure they touch the floor simultaneously. If you skip this, your funky rocker becomes a wobbly paperweight.
